UltimaCase by AGORA Edge Designs an OP Case with 3 D-Rings for the 2nd Largest Supermarket Chain in the U.S
A large supermarket chain on the West Coast of the United States needed a solution that allowed users to have a picking device (a Zebra TC51 touch computer) on their person, but that could be released for their hands to be free—while still keeping the device on their person.
This supermarket chain did not want a rigid holster that was cumbersome, got in the way of removing products from the inventory shelf, this action happens repeatedly, so the UltimaCase by AGORA Edge soft case hanging from their belt with a retractable pulley was ideal in solving the problem.
Solution
UltimaCase by AGORA Edge’s solution for this supermarket chain was the Zebra TC51 OP Case with 3 D-Rings (P/N: AF2669DW). This OP Case has a leather-like exterior that is rich in appearance and cleans easily. In addition, the OP Case features a direct touch with open windows for both screen and keypad, and its flap snaps open so the user can disengage the device.
Design
- The TC51 device hangs from the user’s belt upside down in the UltimaCase by AGORA Edge’s OP Case.
- Users can grab the device in order to view the order details to know what to select and where to pick it.
- Afterwards, they can use the scanner in the TC51 to confirm they have picked the right product.
- They can proceed with this process until the order is completely picked.
Results
Since deciding on this solution, the company has deployed approximately 3,500 UltimaCase by AGORA Edge’s cases and retractors with the Zebra TC51 and has found a successful solution for their specific picking logistics application.
